Your browser does the document work
PDFDock reads, transforms, and exports PDFs on the device you are using. There is no server-side document-processing queue.
PDFDock is a local-first alternative for people who want to merge, compress, edit, and convert PDFs in their browser instead of uploading sensitive files to a document-processing service.
Upload-first PDF apps may be useful for hosted collaboration. PDFDock takes a different approach for everyday sensitive work: document processing occurs on the device where the file already lives.

Open DevTools → Network while you merge the included synthetic demo PDFs. The source PDFs and merged result are not transmitted to PDFDock.
A workspace stores only the account, billing, monthly usage, and parameter-only preset data needed to operate the service—not PDF bytes, filenames, or document contents.
PDFDock includes two synthetic demo PDFs so you can test without using a real document. You may see normal app requests and static assets; you should not see the demo source PDFs or merged result uploaded to PDFDock.
Open Merge PDF.
Click Use two synthetic demo PDFs.
Merge them with DevTools → Network open.
